Qual significado de UP no Facebook

Você já se deparou com comentários em anúncios de grupos do Facebook apenas com a palavra UP? Já reparou que este comentário geralmente é feito pelo próprio autor no post/anúncio?
UP é uma palavra da língua inglesa que significa: “acima”, “para cima”, “subir”, “levantar”. Ou seja, quando alguém comenta UP, está fazendo isso apenas para fazer com que aquele post/anúncio suba na linha do tempo do grupo ou da rede social.

Comentar UP é o mesmo que fazer um comentário qualquer, pois quando se comenta em um post/anúncio, o post/anúncio sobre na linha do tempo e aparece para mais pessoas, como se fosse algo novo. Ou seja, ao invés da pessoa publicar novamente um anúncio igual ao que publicou para que mais pessoa vejam, ele simplesmente faz um comentário no post para realizar o mesmo efeito.

Ou seja, simplificando ainda mais, o comentário UP faz com que um post antigo não caia no esquecimento.
