O discurso indireto, dentro das normas gramaticais da Língua Portuguesa, é aquele que apresenta uma mediação de um narrador. Deste modo, no discurso indireto há um ser em terceira pessoa (o narrador) que conta ao leitor as falas dos personagens disseram (e não os próprios personagens falando).
O discurso indireto tem como principais características:
- O narrador falando pelos personagens;
- A narração sendo feita em terceira pessoa;
- A presença de verbos de locução (ou declarativos): “afirmou, falou, respondeu, argumentou, etc.“;
- Tais verbos costumam estar acompanhados de conjunções ou pontuação, separando a fala do narrador da fala da personagem e delimitando o que foi narrado.
Exemplos de Discurso Indireto
- Cátia andava tranquilamente pela rua quando se deparou com a formação de uma tempestade. Prontamente, voltou correndo para sua casa, pois havia deixado seu guarda-chuva lá.
- Daniel, assim que chegou na escola, aproximou-se de sua colega e foi lhe dizendo que tinha estudado muito para aquela prova de matemática.
- Assim que chegaram ao parque do bairro, Celso contou para seus irmãos que estava com vontade de brincar no gira-gira.
- Luís e Maria, casados há mais de 10 anos, afirmaram que sua paixão arde como no início do namoro.
- De forma tímida e discreta, Eloísa afirmou que preferia ficar em casa ao invés de ir à festa, pois esta estaria cheia de muita gente.
O que é Discurso Indireto Livre?
O discurso indireto livre trata-se daquele onde há a mistura do discurso direto e do discurso indireto, ou seja, ambos ocorrem simultaneamente. O discurso indireto é bastante utilizado na literatura Moderna e Contemporânea, devido ao fato de ser dinâmico.
O discurso indireto livre pode ser reconhecido pelas seguintes características:
- O narrador é onisciente. Assim, o narrador tem consciência e sabe falar sobre tudo o que foi pensado, dito e sentido por qualquer uma das personagens.
- Dificuldade em delimitar o início e o fim do discurso da personagem, pois não há sinais indicando a separação da fala do narrador e da personagem;
- As falas das personagens surgem espontaneamente na primeira pessoa, em meio ao discurso do narrador em terceira pessoa. Assim, um está inserido no outro;
Exemplos de Discurso Indireto Livre
- Vanessa reclamava sem parar devido ao atraso do namorado. Caramba, onde será que ele esta? Estou esperando aqui há mais de 40 minutos! Ela não sabia que o namorado estava preso no congestionamento.
- Enfim era chegada a época das festas juninas e Nestor estava ansioso como há muito tempo não ficava. Finalmente irei à quermesse provar todas aquelas gostosuras típicas da festa! Pamonha, paçoca, vinho quente e lanche de pernil eram algumas das iguarias ofertadas na tradicional festa junina do centro histórico da cidade. Quero provar um pouco de tudo! E assim Nestor ligou para os seus amigos e juntos combinaram um horário e local para se encontrarem e irem à festa juntos.
- Os alunos ficaram quietos assim que o professor adentrou a sala com um olhar sério. Caminhando de forma calma, dava passos leve em direção à sua mesa. Por que o professor está com um ar tão sério? Será que fomos muito mal na prova de ontem? Na mesma hora, o professor afirmou que a nota da maioria dos alunos foi abaixo do esperado por ele.
